**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) / Heath Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager is responsible for managing Mistras' Radiation Safety Program to ensure the safe use of radioactive materials as well as adherence to regulatory compliance. In addition, this position is responsible for the implementation and compliance with the HSE program. The RSO/HSE Manager is responsible for recommending or approving corrective actions, identifying problems, initiating action, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The work schedule will be a rotational hitch of 21 days on followed by 21 days off or 14 days on followed by 14 days off. Daily work shifts will be 12 hours.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:**
+ Overall accountability of the Radiation Safety Program
+ Ensure proper calibrations of radiation safety equipment are performed.
+ Ensure radiation safety procedure is kept up to date on necessary revisions.
+ Responsible for DOT compliance with operator qualifications (OQ's).
+ Perform radiation safety audits as outlined in the Radiation Safety Program.
+ Provide radiation safety retraining as required.
+ Investigate and document any radiation safety incidents.
+ Develop and manage KPIs as related to program.
+ Lead by example in the execution of Company's radiation safety policies.
+ Proven demonstration of communicative skill.
+ Maintain an exceptional HSE and Radiation Safety record.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ 10 years inspection experience and at least 2 years as an RSO representative.
+ Analytical and organizational skills are a must have.
+ Excellent computer skills in the MS Office Suite.
+ Able to secure homeland security clearance for Trustworthy and Reliable (T&R).
+ A valid driver's license is required.
+ North Slope Experience is preferred
+ NDE Level III certifications are preferred
**ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTION:**
+ Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
