JOB SUMMARYYou Matter 2 is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven individual to join our team as a High School Program Facilitator. This role is responsible for the planning, facilitation, and coordination of the Discover U programa comprehensive, year-round initiative that empowers high school students through career and college exploration, leadership development, and workforce readiness.As the lead facilitator, you will oversee core components including weekly Discover U sessions presented in monthly series, the Spring Break College & Career Experience, the Future Forward summer program, and the NextGEN Summer Internship. You will also supervise Expressions Unleashed, a group art therapy initiative designed to support students' emotional wellness through creative expression.The ideal candidate brings both a passion for youth empowerment and strong organizational and facilitation skills. You'll play a critical role in ensuring high-quality programming that prepares students with the skills, experiences, and micro-credentials needed to thrive after high school.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Facilitation & Curriculum DeliveryFacilitate weekly Discover U sessions, organized into monthly thematic series focused on college/career readiness, leadership, financial literacy, and 21st-century life skills.Lead activities for up to 30 students with engaging, student-centered practices.Oversee and support student participation in micro-credentialing, helping youth earn digital badges in skills like initiative, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.Supervise Expressions Unleashed group art therapy sessions in partnership with licensed therapists.Event & Experience CoordinationLead the planning, facilitation, and day-to-day execution of:Future Forward a 6-week summer program focused on life skills, college and career readiness, and hands-on professional development.NextGEN Summer Internship an 8-week paid internship experience for high school juniors and seniors that helps students build professional skills, identify and explore aspiring career tracks, collaborate with peers on a capstone pitch project, and gain real-world experience in a simulated workplace environment.Plan and implement the Spring Break College & Career Experience, alternating annually between in-state/midwest college tours and career exposure trips.Coordinate logistics and oversee student engagement for site visits, mentorship sessions, guest panels, and immersive learning experiences.Youth Engagement & MentorshipBuild trusting relationships with youth that encourage self-confidence, leadership, and resilience.Support students in setting and pursuing personal and academic goals through coaching and mentorship.Cultivate an inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive environment.Communication & ReportingMaintain accurate records of student participation, progress, and earned micro-credentials.Communicate effectively with families, guest speakers, community partners, and internal teams.Provide feedback and insights on program delivery, engagement levels, and outcomes.Team Collaboration & Organizational SupportCollaborate with staff to align program objectives with organizational goals and values.Work on special projects for other programs, initiatives, or organization events, including support and facilitation of:Study Break on Us (2nd & 4th Thursdays)Teen Nights (every 1st Friday)Contribute to seasonal and organization-wide initiatives as assigned.Qualifications and Education RequirementsEducationMinimum of 30 hours of college credit in education, youth development, social work, or a related field.Preferred EducationBachelors degree in Education, Sociology, Social Work, or a related discipline.ExperienceAt least 1 year facilitating educational programming or workshops for youth (preferably high school aged).Strong understanding of college access, career pathways, and/or youth leadership development.Experience with project-based learning, curriculum development, or youth mentoring preferred.Key SkillsFacilitation & public speakingTime management and event coordinationStrong interpersonal and relationship-building abilitiesWritten and verbal communicationCultural humility and commitment to equityProblem-solving and decision-makingWorking Conditions:Part-time position with flexible scheduling, including some evenings, weekends, and travel for field experiences.Work will take place in office settings, schools, and off-site locations during trips and events.Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.There will be no relocation costs included in this package.
