Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Santa Fe, NM
Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts, full-time, travel/training required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care by floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles.
• Assess triage patients greater than 20 weeks gestation using obstetric triage acuity tools.
• Evaluate and monitor labor progression, fetal well-being, and maternal health.
• Identify signs of preterm labor, preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, vaginal bleeding, and other obstetric emergencies.
• Stabilize patients and coordinate transfer to higher levels of care if necessary.
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, misoprostol, mag sulfate, labetalol, and others safely and effectively.
• Prepare patients for labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including assessments of postpartum and newborn patients.
• Assist with newborn stabilization, medication administration, and procedures like heel sticks and circumcisions.
• Support scheduled and emergency cesarean deliveries, ensuring patient safety throughout.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years current experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Valid nursing license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Ability to pass BCA testing during the first week of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• EPIC electronic health record system experience (training available on-site).
• Experience with obstetric emergencies and neonatal care.
