The ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Engineering background with experience in designing and developing consumer hardware products. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for consumer products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, firmware, and industrial design, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs. Conduct detailed analyses, including FEA, thermal simulations, and hand calculations, to validate design performance. Oversee the prototyping process, from concept through to testing and iteration, ensuring designs meet functional and aesthetic requirements. Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications. Manage relationships with external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality production of components and assemblies. Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations throughout the design and manufacturing processes. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices within the team. Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the consumer product industry. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX. Experience with FEA and thermal analysis tools. Strong understanding of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability. Experience in prototyping and testing of mechanical systems. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to consumer product safety. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
