Akron Childrens Hospital is seeking an Oral Surgeon to join our team to provide comprehensive oral surgical care to pediatric patients. This individual will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for patients undergoing oral surgical procedures. The Oral Surgeon will also actively participate in education and research initiatives within the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of oral surgical procedures on pediatric patients, including but not limited to:
Collaborate with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, otolaryngologists, plastic surgeons, and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient evaluation, consultation, and follow-up appointments.
Participate in hospital rounds, conferences, and meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment strategies with colleagues.
Actively contribute to the education and training of dental residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals through lectures, clinical demonstrations, and mentorship.
Engage in scholarly activities, including research projects, publications, and presentations at national conferences, to advance the field of pediatric oral surgery.
Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as professional standards and guidelines, to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in electronic medical records.
Qualifications:
Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of current oral surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices in pediatric care.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate complex medical information to patients and their families.
