Night Auditor Position

Castle Hill Inn is looking for a Night Auditor to join the team.

Nestled on 40 acres overlooking the southwestern corner of Narragansett Bay, Castle Hill Inn a Relais & Chateaux hotel is a coastal haven where guests come to relax and rejuvenate against a spectacular New England backdrop, a location that is second to none. The property features guest rooms that are perched on the sand dunes of our private beach, a banquet facility, and two restaurants featuring the talents of the culinary team. About the Position: The Night Auditor is responsible for the accuracy of all Castle Hill paperwork generated by the Restaurant, Hotel and Food & Beverage Point of Sale Systems. This will be an overnight position from 11PM 7AM.

About You: You have a passion for hospitality and being in service to others. You are detail-oriented, reliable, and thrive in a quiet, overnight environment. You take pride in your accuracy and organization, especially when handling financial data and reports. With excellent communication and customer service skills, you're comfortable assisting late-night guests and resolving issues with professionalism and warmth. You're self-motivated, trustworthy, and capable of working independently.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures POS system closes every night
  • Reviews closing manager's audit, and ensures all information is included
  • Assists in balancing dining room charges, and ensures all charges are posted to the correct guests' room folio
  • Assists in the check in/check out process for guests
  • Answers phones, and assists in taking reservations
  • Monitors PMS to ensure room inventory is accurate
  • Reconciles house guest charges, gift cards, spa and ensures room packages have allocated appropriately
  • Reviews folio balances and ensures all guest rooms have the proper credit limit
  • Reconciles catering revenue
  • Reviews various reservation and in-house guest reports to check for room rates, market segments, availability, no shows, dupe reservations, cancelled reservations packages, routing instructions and credit limits
  • Ensures all system ledgers are in balance
  • Reviews audit reports for accuracy
  • Ensures all adjustments have an accurate explanation and are posted correctly
  • Balances and transmits credit cards daily
  • Ensures a deposit slip has been filled out for cash/check transactions and copies of all checks are made
  • Ensures all necessary paperwork is sent to Corporate
  • Maintains the Relais & Chateau & Forbes standards at all times, with guests and co-workers
  • Effectively communicates with all departments
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the hotel are in good conditions and provide feedback to Rooms manager
  • Ensures any Engineering issues are reported to Operations manager and follow-up

Qualifications:

  • Entry-level, prior experience a plus
  • Associates degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school
  • Must have flexible schedule to work during nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
  • Friday & Saturday 11:00pm - 7:00am are required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

  • Bilingual a plus, but not required
