Description

The Network Lead supports Network Engineering Leadership in driving process and organizational development, ensuring that all designated processes are effectively overseen and completed. This role is responsible for proactively identifying and mitigating issues or risks related to Operations Turnover of Network Project activities. The Network Lead also plays a key part in developing and refining organizational definitions, including structure, vision, mission, responsibilities, goals, roles, titles, job descriptions, and staff count. By continually seeking and implementing process improvements within Network Operations and Network Project activities, the Network Lead fosters operational excellence and supports the ongoing success of the organization, in alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop understanding of customer's business and Network Team interactions and BAU processes.
  • Develop understanding of CMDB principles including asset tracking and process development.
  • Develop documentation compliant with customer guidelines and processes.
  • Schedule and lead meetings with customer and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Accept ad hoc requests from customer and deliver effectively while providing timely/accurate progress updates.
  • Facilitate efficient communication across all levels of a project & stakeholders involve ensuring consistency in reaching the project's goal.
  • Develop project plans, define team deliverables, and work with various team members.
  • Conduct all aspects of project initiation, planning, execution, and closure for projects.
  • Provide strategic insights and advice to customer stakeholders for the project's planning & execution.
  • Communicates project status regularly to the management and project stakeholders.
  • Improve project performance via regular status reporting and executive reviews. Investigate specific performance issues and communicate early warning signs of risk. Enforce consistent performance reporting guidelines to make reporting efficient for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer systems or equivalent
  • 10 years in Information Technology
  • 5+ years with Cisco Networks
  • 3+ years working with Senior Leadership
  • Highly Effective at developing professional relationships with customer leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Experience with Network Technologies including LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewall, Zscaler, Infoblox, Load Balancers, DNS, Proxy, and Data Centers.
  • Experience with ITSM products and processes including ITIL.
  • Experience with Service Now preferred.
  • Experience with Automation including concepts and identification of automation opportunities.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple concurrent activities in-parallel.
  • Effective at working remotely and onsite with customer.
  • Self-starter with a knack for taking initiative and "getting things done".
  • Must have a passion for your work and an ability to apply that passion to both daily tasks and larger projects.
  • Ability to work with a remote team via collaboration tools (Chat, Email, and Video Conferences).
  • Strong documentation skills, ability to write executive and technical reports
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision.
  • Intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability and positive approach.
  • Ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision while maintaining focus on achieving optimal outcomes as part of a collaborative development effort.
