Title: Network Engineer Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid in 77046) Duration: Direct-Hire Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US. W2/direct-employment only. Key Points: Experience in both Cisco AND Fortinet gear is required Strong troubleshooting and deployment skills are critical This person will participate in an on-call rotation Candidates MUST be local to Houston, TX Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer with expertise in Fortinet and Cisco networking solutions. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Network Design and Implementation: Configure and deploy secure and scalable networks using Cisco and Fortinet technologies. Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment. Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Utilize tools to monitor and maintain network performance, uptime, and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly. Perform regular firmware and software updates for Cisco and Fortinet devices. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and changes. Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and align network solutions. Required Qualifications: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking and Fortinet solutions. Proficiency in configuring Cisco routers, Fortinet firewalls and switches. Strong understanding of Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, and security policies. Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs). Experience with network monitoring tools. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Fortinet NSE certifications (preferred). Functional Expectations: Provide in office support from Houston during the week.
