Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Open to Hybrid/Remote) Status: Full Time Position Summary: A Valuation Manager will provide valuation and transaction consulting services for clients in a vast variety of industries. A Valuation Manager will experience immediate client contact and relationship management, interacting daily with CEOs, CFOs, and their advisors. Vision’s valuation analysis and transaction consulting services help to support the sale of privately held Companies across the Country. A day in the life may include, but may not be limited to, visiting client facilities, communicating with client management teams and their advisors, and overseeing the preparation valuation analyses, written valuation reports, and transaction fairness opinions. This position will manage its own book of business, which will consist of current clients and new clients through transaction consulting work. Our services and analysis directly impact the price paid in transactions involving companies that have or decide to implement an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). Our valuation services are utilized by clients and their advisors for ESOP transaction opinions and annual valuation updates. Clients – Over 120 Companies, located across the County Our team members get the opportunity to travel and visit with clients and advisors located in 30+ different states during our annual valuation process or transaction due diligence meetings. Based on workload, analysts may have the opportunity to visit locations such as: San Diego, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, California Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas Our clients include but are not limited to: breweries, information technology, government contractors, specialty construction, retail, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, etc. The variety of industries, locations, management styles, and operating strategies keeps our job extremely interesting and each day and project is unique. Duties & Responsibilities Leading the execution and delivery of valuation reports and transaction opinions Overseeing the work of valuation analysts in the analysis and report writing stages Ensuring the accuracy of financial models and sophisticated valuation analyses Preparing for and attending client field visits and leading management interviews Interacting with company executives and their advisors during the valuation process Reviewing valuation reports and presentations Presenting valuation conclusions and findings to ESOP Trustees Qualifications Degree in Finance or Accounting 5+ years of business valuation experience ESOP valuation experience is a plus Valuation designation such as ASA, ABV or significant progress towards a designation is a plus Excellent analytic foundation with advanced understanding of financial statements and various valuation methodologies (DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis, etc.) High level understanding of financial concepts and complex ownership structures (synthetic equity, etc.) Strong financial modeling skills within Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail Proven ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously ensuring high quality and timely delivery Experience managing, mentoring, and training staff on projects Advanced understanding of financial theory and general accounting issues Excellent verbal and written communication skills Positive and enthusiastic attitude Excels in a team-oriented work environment Shows creativity in problem solving Accountability and ability to multi-task Up to 20% travel required Health and Dental Insurance Health Savings Account Unlimited Paid Time Off Firm Holidays 401(k) Match Discretionary 401(k) Profit Sharing Incentive Compensation Firm Support for Credentialing #J-18808-Ljbffr Vision ESOP Valuation
