Law Firm Billing Specialist

Location: Washington, D.C.

The expected salary range for this Washington, D.C.-based role is $80,000 $100,000.

4 days in office in DC

Position Overview

The Billing Coordinator is accountable for overseeing the end-to-end client invoicing process. This role involves partnering with internal teams, including client service representatives, to ensure timely and accurate billing and revenue tracking. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitor unbilled time and ensure accurate revenue tracking.
• Generate invoice drafts and proformas in accordance with client billing arrangements.
• Validate billing activity for compliance with pre-approved guidelines.
• Prepare and submit write-up/write-down documentation for approvals.
• Compile billing summaries and disbursement reports.
• Issue final invoices and maintain billing records and folders.
• Communicate with clients to resolve billing inquiries and collection issues.
• Support engagement letter preparation in coordination with internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of billing experience in a legal or professional services setting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
• Familiarity with legal billing systems such as Aderant is a plus.
• A bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
