Role: Internet/Web Engineer Advanced

Location: Columbia, SC

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote (Must reside in the Continental US and work EST hours)

Key Responsibilities

• Systems Architecture & Design: Design and implement enterprise-level web systems with a focus on high availability, scalability, and responsive interfaces using Web 2.0 technologies (AJAX).
• Full-Stack Development: Lead Java application development using modern frameworks (Spring) and integrate services into comprehensive system designs.
• Lifecycle Management: Utilize industry best practices and IDEs to manage the complete software lifecycle, with a heavy emphasis on unit testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Production Support: Act as a key member of the Production Support group, maintaining all new technology development for the Member Management replacement project.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with business users, database architects (DBAs), QA engineers, and infrastructure staff to turn business needs into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in each of the following:

• Apache Tapestry: Advanced functional and framework expertise.
• JavaScript & jQuery: Mastery of frontend scripting and interactive web design.
• EDI Transactions: Professional experience with Electronic Data Interchange standards.
• JDBC: Deep knowledge of Java Database Connectivity for backend integration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java and the Spring Framework.
• Familiarity with messaging and automation tools like ActiveMQ and UC4.
• Experience with Unix variants, Unix Scripting, SQL, and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Previous experience with Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS).
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience.
