Job Description
New Iberia, LA : Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Hydraulic Mechanic to join our team for a full time position.
Essential Duties:
• Rig up/down, operate, repair, and troubleshoot offshore OEM equipment including hydraulic power units, winches, pumps, controls, launch/recovery systems, and related equipment.
• Maintain and test offshore equipment for operational readiness and immediate deployment.
• Direct or perform assembly, installation, operation, and rig down of equipment at customer request.
• Accurately document daily activities, equipment usage, and maintenance performed.
• Recommend critical spare parts for customer operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Participate in safety meetings, follow JSA/JHA processes, and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Report incidents, hazards, or abnormal situations to supervisors promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Service/Operations Manager.
Requirements/Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical/hydraulic experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and apply Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience using inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) and general hand tools (must provide own tools).
• Some PLC knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and API Q1 standards is a plus.
• Offshore experience and coil/wireline operations background preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently in both shop and offshore environments.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods.
• Willingness to work offshore as needed.
