Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Specialist to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade business in our PRO Services shops. The Field Service Specialist will provide in-field technical advice, supervision to customers in all aspects of inspection, repair, installation, alignment, and start-up pumps and related rotating equipment. The Field Service Specialist will always provide a high level of professional conduct, especially when accompanied by customers during field assignments. Work closely with PRO Service Centers, Sales Engineers, and customers to deliver services and solutions. Report potential business opportunities. Maintain compliance with all established Environmental, Safety & Health policies and procedures. Must be passionate about providing outstanding customer service and delivering results.

Responsibilities

May include:

  • Provide in-field technical support in all aspects of the installation, commissioning, start-up, vibration testing, functional and performance testing, training, and troubleshooting on pumps and related rotating equipment along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. As such, this position could sit anywhere between the greater Houston and Baton Rouge areas.
  • Complete on-site inspections and repairs of pumps and related rotating equipment utilizing company service truck.
  • Conduct on-site safety meetings as required by the Customer and Goulds Pumps.
  • Supervise/coordinate sub-contractors and customer personnel as required.
  • Complete formal technical field reports, time sheets, JSAs, and expense reports for each field assignment.
  • Provide daily communication to the Field Service Manager/Sales Associate on any issues that arise on site.
  • Provide technical solutions to problematic pump/systems issues.
  • Provide support to factory warranty engineers by investigating and resolving pump product issues in the field.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must be diverse in the repairs of multiple manufactured pumps regardless of manufacture and/or type.
  • Ability to cross-train others and provide leadership to Field Service Technicians.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client group.
  • Ability to troubleshoot in-depth issues with rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret pump drawings.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Well-developed planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to produce clear, timely, and concise documentation and have well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.
  • Proficient in relevant PC skills.

Experience:

>5 years of experience in a machining/repair environment & able to demonstrate a significant contribution.

 

Competencies: 

  • Extensive experience with rotating equipment, pump mechanics, and hydraulics
  • Experience repairing rotating equipment and repairing techniques

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Vocational/ Technical Degree preferred 

Compensation details: 87000-130200 Yearly Salary
