Job Description

Diamond Communications LLC (“Diamond”) is seeking a Fiber Optic Plant and Network Operations Technician for its Jackson, Wyoming territory. Diamond is a dynamic, expanding company in the rapidly growing telecommunications infrastructure industry.

Responsibilities

Safety

· Ensure compliance with all Diamond and site-specific safety requirements for all stakeholders, to support and achieve zero injuries, incidents or accidents

· Assist with Employee, subcontractors and vendor safety orientations

· Project site safety inspection and audits

Quality Control

· Assist with effective communication regarding tasks and changes in operations as defined by Supervisor

· Maintain a clean and safe physical environment

· Site inspections to ensure compliance with Diamond and other specifications, processes and procedures

Financial

· Follow Diamond accounting procedures for travel and maintenance reimbursement

Network Technical Support

· Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Network troubleshooting and resolution

Equipment Installation

Install, configure, provision, and implement

Provide support and assistance for telecommunications and infrastructure systems Contractors

HVAC, Fire, Generator, oDAS, Service Providers

Material and equipment receiving, handling and transport

Customer support

Fiber Optic Plant Technical Support

· Inside and outside fiber optic plant installation

Includes Cat 6 cabling as required

· Troubleshoot and correct all fiber optic network anomalies

Fiber optic cable testing, maintenance and repair

Fiber replacement and/or splicing

· Underground fiber optic cable locating

Coordination with existing local utilities and contractors

General

· Complete basic maintenance procedures as required

Including but not limited to: Painting, cleaning, inspection, weed control, use of hand and power tools

· Assist with Telecom Plant Construction and Business Development activities as required

· Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner

· Position will be located in northwest Wyoming for the period from May 1 through Oct 31 (Housing can be arranged if primary residence not in this area)

Expect 25% travel between Nov 1 and April 30 to northwest Wyoming (if primary residence not in northwestern Wyoming, Denver area is preferable)

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Detailed knowledge and understanding of fiber optic networking, outside and inside plant cabling, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunications operations

· Two years of fiber optic installation or construction experience

· Detailed knowledge and understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking a must

· Cisco network training a plus

· Adran Total Access training a plus

· Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

· Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

· Experience capturing data and preparing reports

Ability to provide and understand system KPIs

· Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office applications.

Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio a must

· The ability to multi-task, handling numerous concurrent requests in an extremely fast-paced environment

· Must be able to climb and work at various heights

Ladder heights greater than 6 foot

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

· Must be willing to perform a wide range of tasks in a variety of environments:

Outdoors, in all weather conditions

Inside building attics, crawl spaces, offices, closets, etc.

· Professional appearance and demeanor

· Available to work holidays, weekends and evenings as needed

· Available to respond to emergency network outages within 4 hours of notification

· Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

· Must currently process and maintain a valid driver’s license

· Must pass and remain in compliance with United States Federal Government background check and drug free workplace policies

Must be able to obtain and maintain DOI access badge

· Must be able to function as a responsible team member

· Willing, available, and ability to travel as required for operational activities and success

· Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

· Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills
