Director of Engagement at University of Connecticut Hillel Join to apply for the Director of Engagement at University of Connecticut Hillel role at Hillel International Role Overview The University of Connecticut Hillel is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and innovative professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong leadership skills to join our staff as Director of Engagement. The Director will be responsible for programming, engagement, and leadership development for our student community. This role requires coordinating various programs and projects to ensure effective staff and student leader functioning. The Director will work collaboratively with staff and student leaders to connect Jewish students to their community and Judaism, inspire future Jewish leaders, and build a vibrant Jewish campus community. This is a fully onsite position with work-from-home flexibility during winter and summer breaks. Responsibilities Collaborate with student leaders and staff to develop and support impactful programming and Jewish experiences. Supervise and mentor engagement team members, including the Israel Fellow and Director of Jewish Life. Manage organizational information flow, including marketing, social media, programming, and calendar oversight. Track and analyze student engagement data to inform program development and outreach. Manage signature programs like FYSH, multifaith initiatives, and community service projects. Mentor student leaders, recruit and supervise engagement interns. Expand Hillel’s visibility through partnerships, interfaith initiatives, and campus outreach. Oversee the program budget, manage funds, and seek grant opportunities. Attend events and support prospective students and families during tours and orientations. Participate in Jewish learning and professional development. Foster a sense of belonging among diverse Jewish students on campus. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably with Hillel, Jewish or higher education settings, working with college students or young adults. Understanding of higher education and campus environments is advantageous. Passion for working with emerging adults and developing their leadership potential. Strong supervision, organizational, and management skills. Commitment to inclusivity and creating a vibrant, pluralistic Jewish community. Entrepreneurial mindset with creative problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders. Strategic thinking and proactive planning abilities. Ability to initiate and run programs independently and collaboratively. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $70,000 - $75,000.
