Job Title: BBC Housekeeping Staff

Status: Full Time

Supervisor: Manager of Housekeeping

Job Summary

BBC Housekeeping staff will provide housekeeping and janitorial services throughout the entire Brandeis-Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University. Core duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms and guest rooms, along with restocking supplies, changing linens, and disposing of trash. Housekeepers are also responsible for following health and safety protocols, maintaining cleaning equipment, and reporting maintenance issues to management.

Duties and Responsibilities

May include, based on work needs and skill level any or all of the following:

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform thorough cleaning of floors, surfaces, windows, and fixtures in all assigned areas.
• Waste Management: Empty and clean all trash cans, ensuring proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
• Bedding and Linens: Change bed linens, fold laundry, and restock towels and toiletries.
• Bathroom Care: Clean and disinfect spaces, including countertops, sinks, and appliances, and maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms.
• Supplies Management: Restock cleaning products, toilet paper, tissues, and other necessary supplies.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
• Reporting Issues: Alert management of any damages, safety hazards, or needed repairs.

Job Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Must possess valid driver’s license.

Qualifications and Specifications

• The ability to stand and be on your feet for extended periods.
• Meticulousness in cleaning and maintaining standards.
• Understanding of how to use various cleaning agents and supplies safely.
• The ability to complete tasks quickly and thoroughly.
• A dependable nature and a positive, professional attitude.
• Following health and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment.
• Availability of working evenings and on weekends, including holidays.
